1. Safal:
This is a high yielding yellow seeded mustard variety, released in 1991. Plants are strong, erect and very tall (about 180 cm), and tolerant to Alternaria disease. It takes about 90-95 days to mature. Its maximum seed and straw yield potential are about 2.2 tons (av. 1.75 tons/ha) and 5.0 tons/ha. respectively Farmers can obtain more biomass from cultivation of this variety, which can be used as fuel. Seed contains 43-44% oil.

2. Agrani:
This is also a high yielding yellow seeded mustard variety, released in 1991. It matures a week earlier than Safal. Pod and seed size are bigger than Safal. Like Safal, this variety is also tolerant to Alternaria disease. Aphid infestation is lower due to thick pod coat. Seed yield potential is up to 2.5 tons/ha (av. 1.75 tons/ha). Seed contains 44% oil.

7. Binasarisha-7:
Binasarisha-7 has been developed through irradiating the seeds of Jata with 700 Gy dose of gamma-rays and released in 2011. The plants are taller in height, higher number of siliqua, bold seed and black seed coat color. The optimum time of sowing ranges from October 25-November 10. This variety matures within 100 days. It can be grown in high land with sandy to loamy type soils. It can produce maximum seed yield of 2.8 t/ha. The seed contains 44.0% oil with vitamins A & E with different essential fatty acids. It is resistant to Alternaria blight disease. This variety can be cultivated all over the country.
